Student-centric software application, Destiny One, helps McGill's School of Continuing Studies engage learners in two languages
McGill University's School of Continuing Studies (SCS) is improving the student experience and streamlining processes for staff by implementing Destiny One, the student-centric software application by Destiny Solutions.
"Destiny One standardized a lot of processes and is making staff more efficient. Now we have better reporting, complete student profiles, more targeted marketing, and we have a very friendly overall user experience," said Rosa Greco-Pepe, Manager of Finance and Operations at McGill SCS. "We went from a complicated mixture of processes to a one-stop shop with an online storefront and a shopping cart. Students don't have to jump through hoops anymore."
Now live with Destiny One, McGill SCS is enjoying a number of benefits, including:
- Complete student profile information that allows staff to target and track marketing efforts more accurately;
- Intuitive online registration for learners so staff do not need to spend time fielding questions about how to register;
- Workflows around the translation process so that staff can publish a uniform public-facing website in English and French without additional steps;
- Extensive reporting capabilities so staff have a transparent view of all operations.
McGill SCS, having participated in its development, is the first school to go live with Destiny One's new Language Packs module. Language Packs allows institutions to offer a public-facing website in different languages. Staff can easily publish translated content and students can set their preferred language with just one click.
"Destiny One's Language Packs make translation part of the workflow so that it's easier for staff and ensures everything is uniform for students," Greco-Pepe said.
This functionality is critical for any school serving a multi-language student population, where translating information is a time-consuming but necessary task for staff. Destiny One's Language Packs make the process of offering website content in multiple languages much smoother for staff and more consistent for students.
"Today's universities need to engage their learners like consumers and offering a multi-language website goes a long way towards this goal," said Shaul Kuper, President and CEO of Destiny Solutions. "McGill University is one of Canada's top institutions and we are proud to partner with them to help offer their learners a top-notch experience."
