Destiny Solutions is a leading provider of enterprise level applications for Higher and Continuing Educational institutions. Our primary product, Destiny OneCE, is designed to unite staff, instructors and students in one seamless process by providing a web based integrated business solution to streamline administration and operations.
Located in Toronto’s Yonge and Eglinton neighborhood, Destiny Solutions is focused on delivering a comprehensive solution to top tier universities and schools enabling them to focus on their core competency, education. Our client list includes the continuing education divisions of Duke University, University of Toronto, University of California Santa Cruz, and the Stanford Center for Professional Development. We are a fast growing company seeking proven leadership to help propel us into our next phase of growth.
As Business Development Specialist your primary focus would be on the sales of our software solution to post secondary customers across North America. With a focus on both new client development as well as new opportunities within existing accounts, the successful applicant will work closely with ongoing marketing initiatives to develop the opportunity pipeline. Reporting to the VP Sales, the Business Development Specialist will use primarily electronic means to prospect for opportunities and communicate with customers. Ideally, the successful candidate will become a “power user” of the Destiny One CE solution, able to demonstrate solution features remotely as well as at trade shows and industry conferences. Candidates will ideally be experienced in solution selling and may have previous experience with ERP Solution sales to Education, Government or Large institutional marketplace.
Key Responsibilites:
- Uncover and advance new opportunities in the sales pipeline within the North American post secondary marketplace
- Expand our relationship with existing clients, seeking new opportunities for our solutions
- Develop winning proposals in response to customer requirements
- Demonstrate key aspects of the Destiny Solutions product suite remotely and in face to face situations
- Work collaboratively with Marketing to maximize the impact of campaigns and initiatives
- Represent Destiny Solutions at selected trade shows and industry conferences, speaking with existing customers as well as prospects
Qualifications & Requirements:
- 3 – 5 years of sales success in conceptual solutions sales in the technology or CRM/ ERP marketplace
- Well developed “Hunting” skills – with a demonstrated talent and drive to penetrate new accounts
- A history of creative approaches to finding opportunities and qualifying prospects
- The ability to thrive and lead in a less structured ‘startup’ business environment
- A demonstrated track record of exceeding quota and the ability to work with the customer to “advance the sale”
- Disciplined use of a defined sales methodology as well as experience using CRM software
- A self starter with a demonstrated ability to manage and creatively attack a sales territory
- Experienced at partnering with Field Account Executives on sales opportunities
- Friendly and outgoing team player with outstanding communication and client management skills
- High energy with excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Keen listener with the ability to extrapolate information to effectively provide innovative solutions
- Education industry application experience is a plus
