If so, Destiny Solutions is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, pre-sales solution architect who will embrace new challenges and opportunities offered by a growing young company by contributing to our sales and business development efforts.

Skills & Qualifications:

The Solution Architect is expected to have an undergraduate degree in Business or Computer Science and 4 or more years of overall technical experience. In addition, they should have 2 or more years of field Sales experience or the equivalent combination of consulting, technical, programming and sales skills.

Candidates should possess:

  • Strong written & communication skills
  • Outstanding client management skills
  • Ability to build strong customer relationships
  • Understanding of project management concepts
  • Knowledge of the basic principles of financial accounting
  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment
  • High degree of creativity and can do attitude
  • Ability to work independently without a great amount of supervision
  • Willingness and interest in travel

Other required technical skills and abilities include a working knowledge of:

  • Web portal applications
  • Java and Java-based tools
  • Oracle Database 10g, Application Server 10g and Identity Management
  • Strong command of SQL
  • Network components including firewalls
  • LDAP
  • Basic networking concepts
  • Emerging trends related to system integration, identity management, and customizations
  • Web services
  • Relational database management concepts and design

Other valuable experience includes:

  • Previous involvement with packaged enterprise software implementations (e.g. SAP, PeopleSoft, Great Plains) an asset
  • Knowledge of the higher education industry and popular educational packaged applications (SIS, LMS, CMS, etc.)

Responsibilities

The Solution Architect is responsible for assisting the sales team to drive revenue by helping to:

  • Qualify accounts
  • Handling technical questions/issues and follow up
  • Craft customer-specific solution blueprints
  • Respond to RFP and RFIs
  • Setting appropriate customer expectations
  • Prepare and deliver solution based product presentations
  • Delivering proof of concepts which meet customer business requirements

The responsibilities also include:

  • Working with technical support staff to resolve customer issues
  • Working with the professional services organization to ensure smooth handoff of customers & ensure deliverables for implementation are accurately met
  • Facilitating the customer feedback loop to research & development
